Where should you shop in Busan in 2026?
Department stores, outlets, IKEA, K-beauty, and souvenirs: the 10 best places

When people think of shopping in Busan, South Korea, a lot of travelers immediately picture Gukje Market or Bupyeong Kkangtong Market. But beyond the traditional markets, Busan has plenty of other great places to shop.
From Centum City, where you can browse luxury brands and cosmetics in one stop, to Seomyeon’s department stores and duty-free shopping, to Gijang’s massive outlets and IKEA, plus local Busan-born brands and travel souvenirs— where you go really depends on what you want to buy.
If you’re visiting Busan from overseas, it’s especially helpful to understand K-beauty shopping, Olive Young, duty-free stores, and tax refunds ahead of time. It makes planning your shopping route during the trip so much easier.
In this guide, I’m leaving out the traditional markets and focusing instead on 10 of the best places to shop in Busan as of September 2026organized by shopping purpose.

Short on time?
Centum / Seomyeon / Dongbusan — if you remember just these three shopping zones, you’ll already be in good shape.
Think of Centum for premium shopping, Seomyeon for department stores, duty-free, and K-beauty, and Dongbusan for outlets and IKEA. That’s the easiest way to map it out.
1. Shinsegae Department Store Centum City
If you want premium shopping in Busan
If I were planning a full department store shopping day in Busan, Shinsegae Centum City would be the first place I’d think of.
Based on the official floor guide, you’ll find a wide range of luxury brands here, including Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Goyard, Gucci, Miu Miu, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, and Fendi.
It’s not just about designer labels, either. You can also browse cosmetics, fashion, and food all in one place, and there are extras like Spa Land and an ice rink, which makes it a great indoor Busan option on rainy days or when the weather isn’t great.

What to check out here
|
B2 Hyper Ground is especially worth a look if you’re more into current fashion brands and a younger, trendier shopping vibe than classic luxury.
Best for · luxury shopping / premium cosmetics / rainy days in Busan / couples trips
2. Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch
If you want to shop in one place in Seomyeon
Seomyeon is one of the best shopping areas in Busan, South Korea. At the center of it, Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch lets you browse everything from fashion and beauty to sports and home goods in one stop.
But the real advantage of this branch is that your shopping doesn’t end with the department store itself. It connects naturally to Lotte Duty Free, the Seomyeon underground shopping arcade, Olive Young, and Seomyeon road shops, making it one of the easiest areas to cover multiple kinds of shopping at oncein a single outing.
|
Try this route Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch Lotte Duty Free Seomyeon Mall Olive Young Seomyeon · Jeonpo |
If you want to continue on to dinner or a café after shopping, heading over to Jeonpo is a great idea.
Best for · fashion / cosmetics / international travelers / public transit trips
3. Lotte Duty Free Busan
A smart stop for international travelers
If you’re planning duty-free shopping in Busan, Lotte Duty Free in Seomyeon is worth adding to your list. It’s in the same shopping zone as Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch, so getting around is easy, and it’s a convenient place to compare premium cosmetics, perfume, and fashion.
K-beauty shopping in particular is often easier when you split it up by purpose instead of buying everything in one place.

|

|

Duty-free isn’t always the cheapest option. It’s best to compare exchange rates, brand discounts, coupons, and promotions on the day you visit.
4. Seomyeon Underground Shopping Center Seomyeon Mall
If you’re looking for affordable fashion and accessories
If you want a shopping experience that feels different from the department stores, add the Seomyeon underground shopping arcade to your list. You can browse clothes, shoes, accessories, and small goods at more approachable prices, so it has a very different feel from upscale department store shopping.
Since you can move through the underground space the whole time, it’s also a comfortable option on rainy days or when the weather isn’t ideal.
Rather than making Seomyeon Mall your only destination, I recommend folding it into a bigger Seomyeon shopping route with Lotte Department Store, the duty-free shop, and Olive Younginstead.
Best for · affordable fashion / accessories / trips with friends / a half-day Seomyeon itinerary
5. Connect Hyundai Busan
If you want to discover brands that started in Busan
If you’re more interested in Busan-flavored finds and local creative culture than global brands, Connect Hyundai Busan is absolutely worth a look.
Connect Hyundai highlights Busan’s local creators and brands in a dedicated way. Along with the Busan-born street brand BALANSAyou’ll also find, on the 3rd floor, a local brand store directly operated by Connect Hyundai called Busan Haengbok Sanghoe.
Busan Haengbok Sanghoe carries products and goods from Busan-based companies, organizations, and brands, which makes shopping here feel a lot more distinctive than a typical department store visit.
|
What to check here
|
This is also an easy place to recommend to international travelers looking for Busan-born brands or local goods.
Best for · Busan local brands / Gen Z and millennial shopping / fashion / international travelers
6. Lotte Premium Outlets Dongbusan
If you want a real outlet shopping day
This large outlet complex sits in the Osiria Tourism Complex. The shopping range is broad, covering luxury and contemporary fashion, sports, outdoor gear, golf, kids’ brands, and casual wear, so it’s a great fit for travelers who want to make discounted brand shopping a real part of the itinerary.
You can compare everything from luxury labels like Gucci, Moncler, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, and Fendi to fashion brands like A.P.C., Sandro, and Stone Island, plus sports brands like Nike, adidas, and New Balance.
Store lineups can change, so if you’re visiting for a specific brand, it’s best to check the official store directory that day.
|
Best for this kind of shopping
|
And there’s one major advantage to Dongbusan: it’s right next to IKEA.
|
Lotte Outlets lunch IKEA Osiria sightseeing or a Gijang café |
If you love shopping, that alone is enough to fill an entire day.
7. IKEA Dongbusan
Home goods shopping might be even more fun than furniture
If you want home and interior shopping in Busan, South Korea, IKEA Dongbusan is the place. Most travelers aren’t buying large furniture pieces on vacation, of course, but once you start walking through, you’ll find plenty of easy-to-buy items like kitchenware, storage solutions, lighting, fabric goods, bathroom items, and small décor pieces.
It’s also fun to wander the showrooms and pick up ideas for your own space.

What travelers should look for
|
The route works best when you pair it with Lotte Premium Outlets Dongbusan.
8. Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets
If you want to compare lots of brands in one place
Located in Jangan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan Premium Outlets has grown significantly after a major expansion. It’s a strong choice when you want to compare a wide mix of categories—luxury, fashion, sports, outdoor, and golf—all in one place, especially when outlet shopping itself is one of the main reasons for the trip .
|
How is it different from Lotte Dongbusan? Lotte Dongbusan Easy to pair with IKEA Easy to combine with Osiria sightseeing Simple to build into a shopping + sightseeing day Busan Premium Outlets Better when you want to focus on outlet shopping itself Better when you want to compare lots of sports, outdoor, and golf brands Better when you want to spend a long time shopping in one place |
Both outlets are in Gijang-gun, but they are not right next to each other. Rather than trying to do both in one day, it’s more efficient to check the brands you want first and choose one.
Hours
According to the official September 2026 information, regular stores are open 10:30 AM–9:00 PMand the specialty restaurant zone is open 11:00 AM–9:00 PM. During the winter season from November to April, regular stores are listed as 10:30 AM–8:30 PM Monday through Thursday, and 10:30 AM–9:00 PM Friday through Sunday and on public holidays. Some stores may keep different hours, so check before you go.
9. Lotte Department Store Gwangbok
If you want to add shopping to a Nampo-dong day
Rather than making a special trip just for the store, Lotte Department Store Gwangbok works best as part of a day exploring Busan’s old downtown. After browsing fashion, cosmetics, and food inside the department store, you can naturally continue on to Gwangbok-ro and Nampo-dong.
There’s also an Olive Young in Nampo-dong, which makes it easy to add K-beauty shopping too. If you’re already planning to visit places like Gukje Market and Bupyeong Kkangtong Market, old downtown sightseeing + department store shopping + K-beautyis actually a very solid one-day combination.
10. Busan local souvenir shopping
If you want something you can only buy in Busan
If you’re wondering what to bring home on your last day, it’s worth looking beyond generic souvenirs and seeking out Busan local brands instead. From Busan-themed design goods and character items to coffee, food products, ceramics, and lifestyle items, the selection is more varied than you might expect.
If you’re using Busan Station, Dongbaek Sanghoe is a convenient place to browse local products, and you can also find easy-to-pop-into local gift shops around Gwangalli during your trip.
Products made with Gijang seaweed and kelp, or design goods inspired by Busan’s ocean and city imagery, are especially meaningful because they feel genuinely different from what you’d find in other regionsand make great travel gifts.
K-beauty shopping tips for international travelers
It’s hard to skip K-beauty when you’re traveling in Korea. In Busan, South Korea, you can easily shop well without going all the way to Seoul if you use department stores, duty-free shops, and Olive Young strategically.
|
What should you look for at Olive Young?
|
Trendy brands and bestselling products change quickly, so instead of locking yourself into one specific item, compare the in-store rankings and promotional items togetherand shop from there.
Can you shop for K-beauty in Gwangalli too?
Yes, absolutely. Olive Young Gwangalliis located at 153-1 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, and the official store listing confirms both Tax Refund and immediate tax refund service.
So even if you don’t buy all your cosmetics at once in Centum or Seomyeon, it’s easy to pick up anything else you need while spending time in Gwangalli. Store hours can change, so I recommend checking Olive Young’s official store information on the day of your visit.
Tax refund basics for foreign travelers
If you’re an international visitor shopping in Korea, it helps to understand the difference between Duty Free and Tax Refundbefore you start.
|
Category |
What’s the difference? |
|
Duty Free |
You buy at a duty-free store at a price with tax not applied |
|
Tax Refund |
You buy at a regular tax refund affiliated store with tax included, then receive a refund later if you meet the conditions |
|
Immediate Tax Refund |
At an immediate tax refund affiliated store, your passport is checked and the eligible tax amount is deducted during payment |
Immediate tax refund criteria
According to the official Korea Tourism Organization guidance for 2026, immediate tax refund is available under these conditions:
-
minimum purchase amount per transaction: $11
-
less than $737 per transaction
-
total eligible immediate tax refund transactions during your stay in Korea: up to $3,685
. Because passport verification is required, it’s a good idea to have your passport with youwhile shopping.
For standard Tax Refund, eligibility rules also apply, including that foreign tourists must stay in Korea for less than 6 months and take the purchased goods out of the country within 3 months of the purchase date.
Not every store offers Tax Refund. The most accurate way is to check for Tax Refund / Tax Free signsat the entrance or register and ask staff before paying.
If you didn’t receive an immediate refund, you may still be able to claim it later depending on the conditions through a downtown refund counter or kiosk, mobile service, or at the airport or port.
